Salpiglossis (Painted tongue)
Salpiglossis 'Chocolate Pot'

Salpiglossis 'Chocolate Spot' ('Royale Chocolate')

This is a wonderful plant. The British-bred Royale Series in ten colours has followed on from the Casino Series in bringing salpiglossis out from the greenhouse and into the garden in British and similarly cool conditions. Occasionally in damp summers the flowers may be marked by rainspots but new flowers keep coming. In warmer climbers they're stunnng.

Also known as 'Royale Chocolate', the sumptous colouring of 'Chocolate Pot' is new in salpiglossis and is marvellous with dark-leaved dahlias like 'David Howard' or with silver foliage.

Type: Half-hardy annual
Height: 12-15in/30-38cm
Season: Early summer to first frosts
Situation: Beds or containers; full sun, good soil.
